PET Crystallization and Drying

Especially for the processing of A-PET bottle flakes diamat developed a new crystallization and drying combination, which submits to integrate various systems into one unit.

Consisting of:

  •  Pre-Mixing Station

  •  Friction shaft crystallizer

  •  Heater

  •  Stir-Drying Funnel

  •  Dry Air Generator

  •  Feeding System


In first place the material is pre-mixed in the pre-mixing station in order to set up best possible and necessary quality. Here above all is to consider the IV value but also quality size, transparency and bulk density of the respective blend of material.

With the friction crystallizer amorphous A-PET is heating during permanent shearing by warm air and again re-crystallized in order to be returned in its actual part crystalline structure. This is necessary to avoid material adhering at the following drying process.

The drying process itself takes place in a stir funnel where the material at permanent stirring and impact of dry air is dried within 45-60 min. at approx. 160-170°C. The remaining moisture is reduced to approx. 30-50 ppm, which has crucial influence on building up of IV.
